Product description

Designed for passenger and compact cars, the Michelin Primacy 4 delivers outstanding wet safety performance, both when new and worn, and excellent longevity.

Safe until the last mile. Squarer circumferential grooves provide efficient water clearance, even when worn. The latest generation rubber compound featuring innovative elastomers provides a high level of wet grip. Outstanding wet braking performance, whether the tyre is new or worn.

Longevity. Slower rate of wear allowing it to last 18,000 km longer than other tyres in the same category.

Wear indicator. In addition to the traditional wear indicator on the shoulder, it also has a Michelin marking to indicate the wear level more clearly so drivers can anticipate when its time to replace their tyres.

MICHELIN PRIMACY 4 : A NEW BENCHMARK FOR SAFETY?

Michelin launches the Primacy 4, a new high performance tyre that combines technology and safety with a longer than average lifespan.

While Michelin is known for emphasising the long life of its products, the manufacturer’s new tyre is also safety-oriented, designed to stay safe, even when worn. Michelin has already been recognised for the lasting safety of its CrossClimate + tyre, which came out top in Auto Bild magazine’s test of worn all season tyres.

Drives further, stops faster

Available in a wide range of sizes (64 to begin with), the Primacy 4 draws on Michelin’s expertise to ensure the safety of its users. For example, it is claimed that the new tyre offers superior wet braking performance thanks to a new “High Performance” rubber compound.

Tests conducted by the independent organisation Tüv Süd support this: on wet roads, the Primacy 4 delivers better braking performance than its competitors. On average, 0.9 m shorter when new, and 2.8 m shorter when the tread has worn down to 2 mm.

The new model in the Primacy range also promises to last longer than its competitors: an average of 18,000 kilometres (11,185 miles) longer, according to tests conducted by Dekra at Michelin’s request. The manufacturer also guarantees maximum performance from its tyre, right down to the minimum legal tread depth of 1.6 mm.

On the European tyre label, the Primacy 4 gets an A or B rating for wet braking in most sizes, and from A to C ratings in rolling resistance/fuel efficiency.

What is the rezulteo score?

The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
