The “brand new” Hankook Dynapro AT2 4x4 tyre is designed for use on all types of roads less the discomfort of road noise. Its versatility does not stop there: this all-season tyre can even be used in winter, as certified by the 3PMSF marking on the sidewall. Roads are waiting for you all year round!
Tyre for all-terrains and all roads
Hankook is launching its new Dynapro AT4x4 tyre which, as its name suggests, is ready for use in all-terrain mode (AT for “All Terrain”). Whether it be for pleasure, leisure or for professional activities, Hankook, the South-Korean tyre brand wants to give drivers of 4wheel drive vehicles (4x4, SUV) a real advantage when driving on asphalt, paved and unpaved roads, muddy or rocky paths.
Hankook has also reinforced its new all-season tyre with a double layer carcass compared with its predecessor, the Dynapro ATM. It is equipped with reinforced shoulders to improve its robustness on rocky ground. A special protective layer under the tread helps prevent or reduce external damage to the steel belt. The other belts are reinforced with nylon which increases durability and improves handling performance. Not forgetting the jointless bead wire, extremely valuable for off-road driving which requires a low air pressure. A detail of crucial importance for any 4x4 driver!
A tyre that grips in summer and winter
An all-season tyre has the advantage that it does not have to be changed in winter or in summer. A driver can use it all year round. To be certain that a vehicle can be safely driven in rain, snow and icy conditions or even in very hot weather, drivers of all-terrain vehicles must be sure of the tyre’s performances. This is the reason why the 3PMSF marking is a legal indicator that guarantees a tyre’s performance on winter roads.
Also, in the staggered tread pattern of the Hankook Dynapro AT2, grooves and sipes are arranged to create better traction in any direction. As for the “biting” edges, they increase the tyre’s ability to deliver more grip on snow. With a more efficient tread pattern than its predecessor, the Dynapro AT M, the new tread has good self-cleaning properties: dirt, stones, gravel, packed snow, etc. are ejected to maintain maximum grip.
Low rolling noise
A 4x4 tyre that must adapt to all types of roads and deliver a high level of grip may have a few weaknesses when it comes to rolling noise. In the structure of a tyre, it is mainly the grooves that generate rolling noise. For the Dynapro AT2, Hankook has gone to great lengths to keep road noise as low as possible:
The reinforced carcass improves ride comfort on the road.
The structure of the block edge acts a sound barrier.
The “aero” technology used at the tyre’s shoulder helps dissipate road noise.
Tie bars between the shoulder blocks also help reduce noise.
Available tyre sizes
The Hankook Dynapro AT2 tyre is available in the most common sizes from 15 to 22 inches with speed indexes from R to H. It will be fitted as original equipment on models from the car manufacturers Chevrolet and Ford.
The Pirelli tyre brand is launching its new Cinturato P7 for this summer. Featuring high technology, it improves performance levels by delivering more grip. This tyre offers increased safety, suitable for all drivers and targets greater energy efficiency thanks to its lightweight construction. And for the tyre market, it is a breath of fresh air.
With the Winterhawk 4, Firestone launches its new generation of winter tyres based on insights provided by drivers. More grip and improved wet braking performance, rewarded with a B rating on the European tyre label, this tyre delivers very good value for money.
Cooper has launched a new all-season tyre for 4x4s and SUVs on the market. The American brand has worked on a new tread technology delivering enhanced grip and resistance. Designed for use in both summer and winter conditions, the tyre is built for the road, mud, and rocky surfaces.
