Car tyre initially developed for car manufacturer Mazda, the Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51 combines driving stability at high speed with enhanced wet safety and maximum comfort.

Performances. The outside part of the asymmetric tread provides stable handling thanks to its large tread blocks. This stability is reinforced by the internal construction of the sidewalls and the belts. The inside part of the tread ensures maximum comfort.

Safety. The top layer of the multi-layer tread increases grip in wet conditions. Most tyres sizes obtain an A-rating on the EU tyre label.

Environment. The light weight of the carcass construction combined with the bottom rubber layer reduces rolling resistance for a higher fuel economy.

YOKOHAMA BLUEARTH GT-AE51: ENERGY SAVINGS

This “GT” tyre, which stands for “Grand Touring”, is developed for medium sized passenger cars. It is designed for long distance driving. Just like the BluEarth-XT AE61, a tyre for SUVs or urban SUVs, this tyre focuses on its fuel efficiency performance. To achieve this, the strength of the BluEarth-GT AE51 lies in energy efficiency and fuel savings: a two layer tread compound reduces energy loss due to heat generation.

Yokohama BluEarth GT-AE51: grip

The Yokohama BluEarth-GT AE51 summer tyre wants to build on the solid reputation of the previous BluEarth-A tyre for wet grip performance. The Japanese tyre brand has used different technologies in the tyre design, in a quest to deliver superior performance:

• Handling, steering stability, and ride comfort: with its asymmetric tread pattern, the rigidity of the tyre and its profile, the tyre has a uniform contact surface with the road.
• Wet grip: thanks to the structure of grooves and sipes in the tread, wet grip performance is superior.
