Product description
Designed for city and compact cars, the Kumho Ecowing ES31 summer tyre provides a more economical and reliable drive in rain than its predecessor.
Safety. Shorter braking distances in wet conditions than its predecessor since rain is quickly removed through four wide grooves and diagonal grooves. The bead and reinforced blocks at the shoulders improve handling stability.
Savings. The innovative tread compound featuring Kumho S-SBR technology and the aerodynamic shape of shoulders lowers rolling resistance and reduces fuel consumption.
Longevity. More resistant tread compound than its predecessor with in particular, high dispersible micro-silica to drive more miles.
KUMHO ECOWING ES31: ECO-FRIENDLY AND ECONOMICAL SUMMER TYRE FOR COMPACT CARS
The Ecowing ES31 is an eco-friendly, economical summer tyre that has been designed to equip city, compact and even certain medium-sized passenger cars.
A high technology compound for an eco-friendly result
A tyre for urban use requires matching performance and Kumho has developed its tyre with this in mind. The Ecowing ES31’s “S-SBR” tread compound, with synthetic rubber and high grip resin, maximises energy transfer to the road and ensures a lower than average rolling resistance. Not forgetting the use of high dispersible micro-silica, known as 'HDMS' which, Kumho claims increases tyre life, particularly in wet conditions.
The tyre’s asymmetric tread design and high sipe density provide stable grip thanks to reinforced shoulder blocks, according to the tyre maker. Sidewalls will also feature heat dissipation dimples which improve the tyre’s overall performance. On the braking side, the Kumho Ecowing ES31 can count on its tread design, especially in wet conditions. With its four, wide longitudinal grooves, excess water is efficiently cleared to avoid aquaplaning situations. Kumho says that, depending on conditions, braking distances are 2 to 5% shorter than with its predecessor.
Availability
The Kumho Ecowing ES31 is available in 38 sizes for 14 to 17-inch rim diameters.
What is the rezulteo score?
The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
