Handling. The tread is designed to stiffen when subjected to lateral forces which ensures precise cornering and a high level of grip. The tyre responds quickly to the slightest steering change.

Goodyear has announced its next generation UHP tyre, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 which will replace the very popular Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The American tyre manufacturer has designed the ultimate all-round summer tyre.

A no compromise, all-round UHP tyre

Goodyear moves up to fifth! The American tyre manufacturer has just announced its new Ultra High Performance tyre: the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. It will replace the very popular Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. 

Designed using many new technologies, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the ultimate all-round summer tyre. For its new tyre, the American tyre manufacturer has announced several improvements, particularly in terms of wet braking and dry handling, without compromising ride comfort.

To do this, Goodyear has developed a new tread compound. It combines wet weather capabilities without sacrificing longevity and dry handling performance. Thanks to a contact patch that increases when braking, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 has a footprint which is more usually associated with a track tyre. As such, braking distances are 4% shorter than its predecessor in wet conditions.

Goodyear has also focused on reducing tyre movements when lateral forces are transmitted. As a result, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5is more precise when cornering and delivers higher grip in dry conditions. Feedback through the steering is also improved, offering a more “communicative” tyre according to Goodyear.
