Objectively, it is not easy to evaluate a tyre’s efficiency in a segment as competitive as high performance sports tyres. The magazine Motorsport, together with Rezulteo, has conducted a thorough survey directly comparing high performance tyres which are considered as a reference on the market. Sometimes surprising, the results are very instructive.
Pirelli has launched the third generation of its Sottozero winter tyre. The Sottozero 3 has been designed for medium and large capacity engines to deliver maximum safety on all winter road conditions (dry, wet, snow, ice ...). It offers significant performance gains compared with the Sottozero 2. It will be available from October 2013 in more than 50 dimensions for 16 to 21 inch fitments.
The performance ratings shown on the label of Goodyear’s new touring tyre, from the Efficient Grip range, are excellent: A for wet grip and B for rolling resistance, a guarantee for fuel savings and reduced CO2 emissions. Available in 39 sizes, this tyre is suitable for compact cars, saloons and family cars.
Did you know that a summer tyre travelling at 25 mph needs more than twice the distance to stop on snow than a winter tyre? Rezulteo has checked this out by participating in tests organised by Michelin on the Val d'Isere track in Savoie (France).
With the Cinturato P1, Pirelli intends to prove that it's possible to reconcile ecology, safety and driving comfort. Designed for small and medium-sized cars, the Cinturato P1 has greatly improved fuel consumption and noise emissions compared to the Cinturato P4 and P6, without lowering performance in terms of braking, driving precision or longevity.
