Two tyres for the new G-Class

Launched at the North American International Auto Show in January, the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class is an all-terrain vehicle with an on-road focus. This luxury vehicle has been available with Falken tyres since May, as recently confirmed by the Japanese tyre manufacturer.

The Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA 4X4 tyre and the new Euroall Season AS210A all season tyre have been selected to equip the 2.5 tonne heavyweight in the size 265/60 R18. Before reaching this stage, Mercedes-Benz put these tyres through a series of tests including an endurance test on the German manufacturer’s proving grounds.

Off-road or on-road, Falken offers a choice

For those accustomed to off-road driving, the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA should meet Mercedes-Benz requirements in terms of robustness and longevity. According to the tyre maker, it should also deliver excellent traction on loose surfaces as well as good handling performance while impressing with its quietness.

The new Falken Euroall Season AS210 will be available for drivers who need a tyre for on-road driving, throughout the year.

Falken teams including Christian Stolting, Key Account Manager for Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration: “For us, the approval to fit the new G-Class with Falken as original equipment is a very special seal of quality and recognises that we constantly strive for high performance in both development and in production. Of course, we will continue to expand our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.”
