Continental becomes triple Grand Tour sponsor

Following deals with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, Continental has announced a new partnership with the Giro d’Italia. The German tyre manufacturer has signed a 3-year sponsorship deal with RCS Sport, owner of the prestigious Italian cycling race.

This agreement sees Continental become an official partner of the Tour of Italy, giving the brand high visibility both at the event itself and through RCS’s various media channels, including the Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera newspapers.

On the technical side, Continental will equip all official fleet vehicles for the race, as well as some bicycles for the technical assistance team. “We are delighted to include such an important event as the Giro d’Italia in our calendar”, said Alessandro De Martino, Managing Director of Continental Italia, at the launch of the partnership. “It will allow us to highlight the excellent quality of our bicycle tyres. We already supply many teams on the professional world circuit. This collaboration is particularly significant due to the importance it gives to many of the topics about which we feel most passionate; in particular, road safety. Cyclists are part of this road ecosystem and for this reason, we see the Giro as a fantastic opportunity to launch a road safety campaign, which contributes to Vision Zero, a future with zero fatalities, zero injuries and zero accidents.”

This year’s Giro d’Italia will take place from 4 - 27 May.
