Bridgestone Turanza T005 for the Audi A7

Bridgestone launched the new Turanza T005 in January, and has now announced its first original equipment partnership for this tyre, with carmaker Audi. The new A7 Sportback will be available with the full 17” – 21” range of Turanza T005 tyres.

Bridgestone has worked closely with Audi engineers to develop a tyre in line with the German manufacturer’s comfort requirements. The 19" to 21" fitments will come with Bridgestone’s B-Silent technology which aims to minimise cabin noise caused by air vibrations inside the tyre.

At the same time, Bridgestone has also announced a partnership with Renault to supply original equipment for the new Mégane RS. The Potenza S001 will be available for the French manufacturer’s hot hatch in the 19-inch size. For this tyre, the Japanese tyre manufacturer focused on high speed performance.

“We put larger blocks on the outside of the tread pattern to improve dry handling and braking, and smaller blocks on the inside to optimise performance in the wet. This improved the contact line for a better connection with the road’s surface and better stability at high speed” explained Christophe de Valroger, Vice President of Original Equipment for Bridgestone Europe.
