Product description

Tyre developed for compact cars and MPVs, the BluEarth-A AE-50 is characterised by its outstanding performance in wet conditions.

Safety. The rubber compound and asymmetric tread with variable width longitudinal grooves improve braking performance on rainy days. Zigzag grooves quickly disperse water.

Comfort. The aero dimple shoulder design and alternating pitch ensure low noise levels throughout the tyre’s life.

Economy. The aerodynamic tread design and the “ACE” tread compound offer a lower rolling resistance. Fine grooves on the inner shoulder help reduce irregular wear.

YOKOHAMA BLUEARTH A AE50: EFFICIENT IN RAIN AND AT THE PUMP

At Yokohamalow rolling resistance tyres for compact cars with a “conventional” engine pass through the BlueEarth-A range that takes its place alongside more specific ranges designed for generous sized sports cars or SUVs.  Its recipe is common in the tyre world and quite similar to the one proposed by most competitors: an optimised tread to reduce fuel consumption and deliver good performance on wet roads, two extremely important criteria even if only to obtain a good rating for the mandatory tyre labelling. The BlueEarth-A AE50 relies on its Nano Blend compound and asymmetric tread design to improve its dynamic handling, optimise its braking ability on wet roads and above all, reduce the vehicle’sfuel consumption thanks to a low rolling resistance.Noise levels have also been reduced.

Available sizes

The BluEarth-A AE50 comes in at least 14 available sizes, from 16 inch (195/65R15) up to 18 inch (235/40R18) rims, and on the whole, obtains a rather good rating (C for rolling resistance, A for wet grip, 71 or 72 decibels for external noise).

What is the rezulteo score?

The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
