Yokohama Advan Neova AD08RS: the range meets regulations
At the Geneva International Motor Show, Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama has announced the launch of its Advan Neova AD08RS semi-slick tyre which meets the new European regulation for rolling resistance.
A new semi-slick tyre in line with regulations
At the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, Yokohama has been very active. After presenting its economical BluEarth-air EF21 tyre, the Japanese tyre manufacturer has unveiled the latest addition to its sports range: the Advan Neova AD08RS. A familiar name for all semi-slick fans. And that’s normal, since it is quite simply a re-engineered version of the Advan Neova AD08R which was threatened by new European tyre regulations. Indeed, the new European law prohibits tyre manufacturers from proposing new tyres with an F-rating or less on the EU tyre label for rolling resistance.
With a solid reputation for its very sporty performance, particularly in dry and wet conditions, the “new generation” Advan Neova” returns with the same characteristics as its predecessor while meeting Europe’s new regulations. Yokohama says it has optimised the compound used for the Advan Neova AD08RS to reduce its rolling resistance. This technical development will allow the Nippon tyre manufacturer to market its sports tyre in all European countries from spring 2019.
The all new semi-slick or slick street legal Yokohama Advan Neova AD08RS tyre will be available from next spring (2019) in 31 sizes for 15 to 19 inch rim diameters.
