Product description

Tyre designed for sports cars, the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 delivers a high level of performance in wet and dry conditions.

Strengths:

High braking performance on dry and wet roads, worthy of a premium tyre according to tests conducted by TÜV SÜD.

The full silica tread compound and wide straight grooves to evacuate water ensure a high level of wet grip. A or B rating on the EU tyre label for this criteria.

The aramid and nylon ply later offers high speed stability.

Fast steering response thanks to the optimised internal construction and sidewalls to stiffen the tread.

The new tread compound and reduced tyre weight lowers the rolling resistance and improves fuel consumption.

VICTRA SPORT 5: THE SPORTS TYRE BY MAXXIS

The Taiwanese tyre manufacturer aims to propose an alternative to premium brands. The Victra Sport 5 has been developed with this in mind, but at a much lower cost than its competitors.

According to Maxxis, the tyre’s tread compound has been improved to deliver a high level of performance, especially when driving fast. At the same time, the tyre structure has been optimised to improve high-speed handling and lower rolling resistance in dry conditions.

The manufacturer also says that the different thicknesses of aramid and nylon ply layers reduce the tyre’s weight, lowering rolling resistance and improving ride stability. This is reinforced by the full silica tread compound which is designed to deliver excellent grip in wet and dry conditions.

Independently tested performance

To prove its performance, Maxxis put its UHP tyre through comparative tests carried out by independent body TÜV SÜD. The Victra Sport 5 turned out to be more than a match for its competitors, equalling and even exceeding their performance in certain tests. It even managed to deliver braking distances up to 5.5% shorter than the other tyres in wet and dry conditions. The result is that the tyre receives A and B ratings for wet grip on the European tyre label, in all available sizes. In terms of rolling resistance, it is rated C or E depending on the size.

Availability

The Maxxis Victra Sport 5 UHP tyre is available in 26 sizes for 17- to 19-inch rim diameters.

What is the rezulteo score?

The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
