COOPER TIRES: NEW CS7 SUMMER TYRE FOR CITY CARS

American tyre manufacturer, Cooper Tires, has launched a new summer tyre for small and mid-size cars: the CS7.

Fuel economy and longevity

Successor to the CS2, Cooper’s new summer tyre, the CS7, has been developed for small and mid-size passenger cars. With this latest generation tyre, the American manufacturer has combined its expertise with new technologies.

Designed to deliver better fuel economy than its predecessor, the CS7 features a brand new tread pattern. Thanks to this pattern and optimised tread depth, the tyre distributes load evenly, lowering rolling resistance. According to Cooper, the new tyre has a larger footprint that provides mores grip and prevents uneven wear.

The tyre maker also promises improved lateral grip, traction and braking performance, thanks to the CS7’s high silica compound, with circumferential and lateral grooves.

Driving on the quiet!

Where Cooper’s new tyre is ahead of the curve is in its quietness on the road. The American tyre manufacturer has designed “noise damping nodes” in the tread grooves to significantly reduce vibrations produced by the tyre’s contact with the road. Result on the European tyre label: the tyre's exterior noise was measured at 68dB, making it one of the best in this category. The CS7 also obtained a B rating for wet grip in all available sizes, and B to E ratings for rolling resistance, depending on the size.

Availability

Cooper’s CS7 summer tyre is already available in 30 sizes for 14 to 15-inch rims with T and H speed ratings.

What is the rezulteo score?

The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
