Bridgestone equips the small Seat Minimó electric concept car
Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone was at the Geneva International Motor Show through its collaboration with Seat, the Spanish car manufacturer who presented its small electric concept car.
A concept close to the reality
Although Bridgestone did not have its own stand at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show, the tyre manufacturer was not completely absent. As part of its partnership with Spanish car manufacturer, Seat, who presented the Minimó concept car, the Japanese brand presented a new type of tyre specially designed for the occasion.
Based on the “ologic” technology for electric vehicles, the tyres for the Seat Minimó have been developed at Bridgestone’s R&D centre in Rome in record time according to the tyre manufacturer. It uses the design of a tyre oriented towards micro-mobility and connected autonomous share electric vehicles.
As such, the Minimó concept car presented by Seat perfectly corresponds to this definition. This vehicle built for two passengers, like the design of a Renault Twizy, is all electric. It also offers a permanent connection to the 5G network and is presented as a level 4 autonomous vehicle that can be used without a driver in certain situations. The Seat Minimó concept car also comes with an innovative battery swap system, offering a range of 100 km with a single charge and which can be swapped in a few seconds. Characteristics taken into account by Bridgestone who has developed a bespoke tyre with a low rolling resistance and handling adapted to this concept.
