2019 Geneva International Motor Show: Cooper launches its new all season tyre
The 89th Geneva International Motor Show opens its doors from 7th - 17th March 2019. The European subsidiary of American tyre manufacturer Cooper Tire has unveiled its new Discoverer All Season tyre, designed to deliver reliable traction in unpredictable weather all year round.
Tailored for European roads
Developed in Europe and specifically for European roads, the new Cooper all season tyre is designed to withstand severe weather conditions. The tyre displays the 3PMSF symbol which guarantees its performance in winter conditions. Using a special silica and resin tread compound to produce its tyre, the Discoverer All Season offers excellent levels of grip over a wide range of temperatures.
The new Cooper all season tyre obtains a B-rating on the European tyre label for the wet grip criteria. Its 3D lateral snipes and grooves provide efficient water evacuation. The centre part of its tread also helps avoid aquaplaning and maintains the steering response. An optimised tread block sequence reduces the noise generated (to 71 dB) by the contact of the tyre with the road.
Built to last
According to the tyre manufacturer, this all-new tyre has been built to last and offer a longer tyre life than average. Base on the results of tests conducted in 2018 in the UK by PT & A on the Cooper Discoverer All Season tyres and similar tyres from recognised European manufacturers, the Discoverer All Season provides a 20% longer tyre life than its competitors.
“The Cooper Discoverer All Season is an important new addition to our product offering, as all-season tyres becoming more popular and relevant to drivers within Europe. This is an exciting development for us in terms of increasing our already diverse product portfolio, designed to give drivers confidence on the road and tyres that are built to last", said Michiel Kramer, Cooper Tire Marketing Director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
The new Cooper Discoverer All Season is available in a wide range of sizes.
