Designed for a wide range of cars, the Barum Polaris 5 offers drivers excellent traction in snow at a reasonable price.
Strengths:
Water is efficiently drained through lateral and longitudinal grooves in the directional tread to prevent any loss of control in wet weather.
Slanted sipes on the shoulder blocks increase the road contact area to improve wet grip.
Transverse incisions in the centre ribs and biting edges on shoulder blocks improve acceleration, traction and braking performance on snowy roads.
The centre part of the tread improves lateral grip.
The slightly offset arrangement of ribs reduces noise levels.
What is the rezulteo score?
The rezulteo score is calculated considering three performance categories: economy, comfort and safety. When it comes to winter tyres, the performance criteria snow and ice are added. By weighting different basic performance criteria an overall score is determined. This weighting is calculated based on the tyre size category: economic, high performance or sports.
